Ensign advertisements state that the Autorange 220 will be ready in June of 1937. The lens range was extensive from an f4.5 Ensar in a Prontor to an f2.8 Tessar in a Compur Rapid. Early advertisements show a camera without a body-release. The camera was re-introduced directly after the war fitted with the new Epsilon shutter.

The normal case supplied for the camera was a pouch, an ever-ready case similar to the one supplied with the Multex was later introduced.
