The De-Luxe is the only production Sibyl to be fitted with a combinable lens and to have double extension. The combinable Protar had proved a success on the Universal range of detective cameras, the Sibyl De-Luxe did not prove so popular, probably only around 100 being made.

The camera was fitted with horizontal as well as vertical rising front, to enable this a slim shutter was used with a very different mechanism to ordinary Sibyls. On the earliest models (first year) a direct-vision finder was fitted with a mirror at the rear for waist level use, later models had the usual Sibyl reflecting finder. The small image above shows the cam attached to the early model finder that causes it to tilt as the rising front is operated.

A roll-film version is advertised in 1912 and in c.1913 the camera was available with a Ross Convertible lens. The price in 1909 was £21.0.0.
