Lens:
f6.3, 4 ¼" Ross Homocentric, iris diaphragm to f22. Serial no. 83657 (c.1918).

Shutter:
Ilex Acme, speeds 1 - 1/300, B, T.

Construction:
Leather covered metal body, leather bellows.

Format:
2 ½" x 3 ½" plates held in slides.

Focusing:
Bellows to 4 feet. Pre-set positions determined by lever on front of baseboard.

Attributes:
Frame view-finder. Curious arrangement for making the fold down bed rigid - a plate covering the focusing screen folds down and pushes through the body to cover the hinge of the baseboard.

Movements:
Rising front.

With:
Hooded focusing screen.

Manufactured by Newman & Guardia. The fold down plate is reminiscent of much older field cameras. The patent is in the names of Newton and Wright, Limited of 72, Wigmore Street, London and Thomas Litchfield of 43, Lambton Road, Hornsey Rise, London. Newton & Wright were a sister company of Newton the old-established optical firm once of Fleet Street. Newton & Wright had a factory in Hornsey Road.
