Based on the patents of G.G.B. Tartara, the Sept was designed for continuous operation giving around 15 seconds of film or as a single-shot still camera. It was introduced in 1922, in 1925 a model with a larger driving spring was produced. The clockwork drive is detachable to allow, according to the patent, manual operation, though no manual release seems to have been produced. The camera could also be used as a projector, enlarger and printer, two plates at the top and bottom of the camera can be slid open to allow a second film to be threaded.

Between the motor unit and the camera section there is a single drive spindle. Intermittent movement is provided by a Maltese cross in the camera.

The case has the Sept emblem embossed in the leather, there is no extra space for spools as in some examples.
