Variations

  • Earliest models have an engraved finish with painted bright parts, later a plated finish was used.
  • Early models have a fixed back, later this was removable enabling the plate back to be fitted.
  • Late models have a swivelling plate to cover red window, prior to this no cover was fitted.
  • The depth of focus tables differ between calculations based on f/1000, early, and f/1500, late.
  • Late models have the spur shaped fixing for the neck strap, before this the strap fitted to studs on the lower side of the camera.

The metal plated model was replaced by the leather covered Rolleicord I after about a year.
