Shutter:
Ilex, spring powered and regulated, speeds - 1/90, 1/50, 1/25, T.

Construction:
Leather covered wood body.

Format:
12, 3 ¼" x 4 ¼" plates held in internal falling plate mechanism.

Focusing:
Bellows.

Attributes:
Two reflecting finders. Exposure counter. The front opens to give access to the shutter, the back and base open to load and unload the plates.

Serial Number:
71 .

Several falling plate cameras incorporated the patents of A.C. Jackson, this example comes closer to the patent specification than most. The patents include the shutter, later called the Ilex, and the changing mechanism.

Similar cameras were sold by Houghton, Fallowfield and others.
