Granitine was a trade name for a range of porcelain darkroom products. Advertisements give the introduction date but are not consistent, a date of around 1887 is probably close. Products include: Plate Washer; Developing Tank; Fixing or Alum Tank; Plate Drainer; Dishes; Film Developing Aid; Developing Dish with trough.

Fixing or Alum Tank

Two, half-plate tanks, one quarter-plate tank.

An alum bath was used after developing the plate and before fixing to harden the emulsion, its use died out in the 1910s.
