This is a conventional Pelmet meter mounted in a hinged frame attached to a leather wrist strap.

In use the finder shows a series of numbers. On the calculator one of three indices, depending on the subject, is set against the number, the shutter speed and aperture pairs can then be read. The price was 28/6.

In use two small circles of light are seen in the finder. A dial is turned until the left-hand circle disappears. The light is diminished by a step wedge (probably a piece of exposed film). After the reading has been taken the shutter speed and aperture pairs can be read.

The iris had two functions - as a means of checking the depth of field and as an extinction meter. The meter is placed on the viewing lens of the camera. The iris is closed until the mid tones become indistinct, the shutter speed and aperture pairs can then be read. There are two scales one for open air use the other for artificial light. Only one film speed was shown. Early models are black later a black and chrome finish was used. The maximum aperture was also increased to f2.8.
