The Pocket Kodak was the first Kodak to use the red window for indicating film-advance.

Two versions of the 95 model exist, in the first the shutter was attached to the removable section of the camera, later the shutter was separately mounted on a removable wooden panel. Both models were available in red or black leather and had round view-finders. The shutter had to be tensioned by hand.

In the 96 model the earlier shutter was replaced by a Kodak Rotary model. The finder was now rectangular. The finish of the 96 was black morocco.

At the back of the camera is a removable panel that could be replaced by a plate holder.
